Hoeke

 

Hoeke nestles peacefully behind the high Krinkeldyke. In the Middle Ages Hoeke was the Zwin port for German merchants. Together with since disappeared Monnikerede, it was combined with Damme as far back as 1594. The St. James' Church from the 13th century and the windmill of 1840 are worth visiting.
