Moerkerke

 

The Leopold and Schipdonk canals cut Moerkerke in two. At the end of World War II the Battle of the Windmill was fought here. In the Den Hoorn district of this smugglers' region is the charming place of pilgrimage to Saint-Rita. The Moerkerke castle partly dates back to the 17th century.
