Sijsele

 

Sijsele is the main residential centre for Damme (counting more than half of Damme's population). But Sijsele can also boast the magnificent woods of Ryckevelde, near the historic castle - now Abbey - of Male. Today, the Ryckevelde Castle houses the European Educational Centre. The botanic garden of the domain Ryckevelde is specially conceived for the blind and the wheelchair-users. The Damme Golf & Country Club is also to be found at Sijsele.
